The most powerful technique for dealing with uncertainty is relatively unknown, even to many business managers/leaders. I thought I would write a quick post about it for anyone who is struggling with anxiety related to their future, Brexit, trade wars, economic worries etc.

The technique which I have found to be incredibly powerful for dealing with uncertainty is scenario planning. When implemented well it literally transforms anxiety into confidence. That’s why it is used by politicians, militaries, and top business leaders around the world.

There are different methods used for scenario planning but they generally include 3 parts:

  1. Understanding the context
  2. Developing potential future scenarios/ii
  3. Planning how you can deal with them

For more complex implementations, it really can drive you crazy so get help and proceed with caution. But for simple applications, it can be implemented very easily so if you haven’t already, why not give it a go?
